EASCAB Publications 2012

RELEASED

Publications on IMTS, FDIS, SITS and MDG

The EASCAB Programme, together with ASEANstats, has released several publications on each mainly program fields at the end of November 2012. These publications consist of: the First ASEAN Statistical Report on the MDGs, Annual and Three Quarterly Publications of 2011 for International Merchandise Trade Statistics (IMTS) field, Annual Publication of 2010 for Foreign Direct Investment Statistics (FDIS) field, and The First Publication of 2005-2011 period for Statistics on International Trade in Services (SITS) field.

Response on the publications were excellent, especially for the MDG and SITS publications. The MDG publication is the first ever report on the MDGs produced by ASEAN in details. The progress chart is also presented with the comparison within and outside the region. The SITS publication's response is not much different. Some responders even say that it's "historical" or "worth of waiting" since this is also the first SITS publication ever release. In fact, the Programme has to reproduce these publications due to the high demand from the users.

In additional, the Programme also released the handbook of "Guidelines for the Harmonisation of ASEAN Statistics" in early December 2012. These guidelines are to be applied to the various statistical fields in support of one of the ASEANstats' objectives to produce more comparable statistical data that accurately measure the progress in ASEAN economic integration.

All above mentioned publications in hard copy are available at ASEANstats while the soft versions are available on this website
